Starbucks is pretty consistent at most locations. This one is a high traffic area as it is next to Hard Rock Hotel,in the heart of the gaslamp district, and just near the convention center.
I waited about 5 minutes, with about 6 people ahead of me and the line moved very quickly. The staff were friendly and efficient. I did read some comments about the lines, I was on vacation so I can't attest to the day-to-day volume, but would assume ordering and picking up would be a good choices if a major convention is in town. -

They make good coffee and they're friendly.
HOWEVER, because of the location of this Starbucks they absolutely get slammed when events are happening at the convention center. Which is always.
Plan to mobile order - always. And if you mobile order during conference season, expect it to take 20-30 minutes before you can get it - even if your order is just a simple drip. -

They worked fast getting the line going. There was 5 barista in a small location very compacted (compared to other stores) Very clean and organized. Even though they took a while to give us our sandwiches, they still deserve the 5 stars due to working fast and getting most of us out in a short period of time.

OFC 2019 Conference. Great area and convention center to host in. The Convention Center architecture reminds me of the Amphitheater in Sidney Australia. The convention center sits at the bay so the view is awesome. The center also sits between the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel and the Marriott Marquise. It is also across the street from lite rail and Gaslamp District. Looking forward to next visit.

I was in town for a few days, working at an event being held at the Omni hotel. So anytime I needed coffee, I could mobile order here, walk there, get my order, and be back within 10 minutes.
Every time I ordered(a personal drink, not a group order), my drink was there waiting when i arrived. But i only ordered coffee and nitro cold brew(which isn't that hard to make(I've worked at Starbucks)), so i don't know if they could make a complicated late or frap in a similar time frame or not.
But they automatically lose a star, cause every day I was nearby, their store was out of lemonade(and I was working with a guy who wanted black tea lemonade, forcing me to walk to the next Starbucks a 1/4 mile away for group orders).
